This episode is an interview with Chef Zach Sass. Chef Zach spent his entire life pursuing a dream in the culinary arts. He wanted it so bad, and he climbed the ranks incredibly quickly…then Coronovirus hit. For the restaurant and hospitality industry, they got hit INCREDIBLY hard by the shutdown due to the virus. In the midst of the shutdown, Zach had to figure out how to take 10+ years in the culinary world and produce an income to provide for his family.
This Bonus Episode of The Startup Story is the type of story we should all be hearing in the midst of this Coronavirus. This startup story doesn't have one that is a "lifetime in the making." No, it was forced upon Chef Zach because of the pandemic we are all living through. So within just 3-weeks from being laid-off from his restaurant job, Chef Zach established a website that allows normal people, like you and I, to request a menu concept directly from him…a reallife CHEF! Once you select the menu option he then walks you through how to make it via a video culinary session!
The amazing part…well there are two amazing parts. First, it starts with you telling him the items you have in your pantry or kitchen. You can literally throw anything at him and he will turn out an incredible meal for you. The second amazing thing about Chef Zach’s story is that he doesn’t charge for it…it’s donation only. While I shouldn’t be surprised at the goodness of humanity, he has said every single donation has been more than he expected. Stories like this are the stories that need to make the headlines. These are the startup stories that can change lives forever.
